What is HolyElk?
HolyElk is a time-tracking system: an NFC/RFID terminal with a 7" touchscreen for desk or wall use, plus cloud software - for SMBs, clinics, restaurants and coworking spaces.
Is HolyElk ArbZG-compliant?
Yes. Maximum working hours, breaks and rest periods under German working-time law are checked and documented automatically.
Where is my data stored?
Only on servers in Germany (Hetzner). HolyElk is GDPR-native - no data is transferred to US services.
What hardware do I need?
For on-site clock-ins you need the HolyElk terminal and NFC/RFID cards. Staff clock in with a card tap; management and reporting run in the web portal.
What does HolyElk cost?
Software is €0, €19, €39, €79 or €129 per month, with 15% off annual plans. The terminal always costs €349 one-time, independent of the software plan. Complete get-started bundles combine the terminal, NFC cards and the first software month (Starter-Set, Growth-Set, Growth Duo).
Is there a free trial?
Yes - 14 days free, no credit card. You can cancel anytime.
Does the terminal work offline?
Yes. If the network drops, the terminal buffers bookings locally and syncs automatically once the connection returns.
Does HolyElk support multiple sites and shifts?
Yes. Shift planning, multi-site management and role-based permissions are built in.
Can employees clock in from the browser without the terminal?
Yes. Besides the terminal, employees can clock in directly in the web portal. Admins can allow flexible online stamping (e.g. home office) per employee or for the whole company.
Does HolyElk support availability-based planning?
Yes. HolyElk has two planning models: the admin plans shifts top-down, or employees submit their availability and the admin plans around it.
Can sick notes be uploaded digitally?
Yes. Employees upload sick notes and certificates in the portal and can attach them to their sick-leave request.
Is there a DATEV export for payroll?
Yes. From the Growth plan, HolyElk exports each employee’s monthly hours as a DATEV LODAS file for your tax advisor.
